DAYVILLE — Judith A (Bryant) Black, 81, of Lens Ave., died Feb. 21, 2022, at St. Vincent Hospital in Bridgeport. She was the best thing that ever happened to her husband, Roger S. Black, of 58 years. Born in 1940 in Biddeford, Maine, she was the daughter of the late Russell and Sarah (Seavey) Bryant.
Mrs. Black worked for many years as a postal clerk for the United States Postal Service and prior to that was a teacher.
Mrs. Black was a member of the First Congregational Church of Pomfret and enjoyed crafting, gardening, knitting, sewing, spending time with her grandchildren and reading.  She was an avid supporter of the Hole in the Wall Gang and loved making quilts for them.
She leaves her husband, Roger S. Black; her children, Gwyneth Craig (Kevin) of Peoria, AZ and R. Forest Black of Putnam; her siblings, Calvin Bryant, Alice Doyle and Russell Bryant; and her grandchildren, Jesse Craig, Lucas Craig, and Mya Black.
A Memorial Service was Feb. 25 in the First Congregational Church of Pomfret. Donations:  First Congregational Church of Pomfret, P.O.
