Bandstand roof redo

PUTNAM — The crown is a little worse for wear on one of Rotary Park’s crowning glories.
The roof of the bandstand is going to be replaced with a metal roof, according to Parks and Rec Director Willie Bousquet.
Most of the supplies are in for the project. He said they hope everything will be in by the end of May so the project can be finished before the July Fireworks extravaganza set for July 9.
The project is being done by Commercial Roofing of Putnam. The cost for the metal roof is about $65,000. Bousquet said, “Because we’ve switched to a metal roof, we should not have to replace it for a long, long time.”
