Evelyn M. Champoux
THOMPSON — Evelyn (Krawczyk) Champoux, 88, of Thompson, died March 26, 2024, at Day Kimball Hospital. She was the wife of the late Roger J. Champoux Sr.
Born in Webster, she was the daughter of the late Edward and Stasia (Strenk) Krawczyk.
Evelyn worked at Allen Candy and Sanitary Dash for many years. In her spare time Evelyn enjoyed reading, doing word searches and could often be seen enjoying a handful of M&Ms. Above all else Evelyn was a big UConn women’s basketball fan. She watched every game she could and enjoyed the games right up until her passing.
She leaves her son, Roger Champoux Jr. of San Antonio, Texas; daughter, Donna Russell of Dayville; brother Charles “Kaziu” Krawczyk of Worcester, sister Falicia “Phillis” Manafo of Sturbridge; grandson, John Pepin Jr.; nieces and nephews. She was predeceased by daughter, Lynn Champoux.
The Funeral Mass was April 2 at St. Joseph Church, N. Grosvenordale, with burial in West Thompson Cemetery. Valade Funeral Home, 23 Main St., N. Grosvenordale.
