Wayne C. Riendeau
PUTNAM — Wayne C. Riendeau of Putnam  passed away with his daughter holding his hand and family by his side on June 18, 2024, in Windham Hospital.
Born in 1956 in Worcester, Wayne was the son of Vivian Johnson and Henry Riendeau.
Wayne was proud of his over 30 year career with the State of Connecticut Department of Developmental Services, which he’d had a much deserved retirement from for the last five years.
“Wayno,” as he was known to his friends, was always making people laugh. He had a nickname for almost everyone, with a personality that can only be described as “Waynerism.” He loved to grill and cook which everybody enjoyed; loved animals and was never without a pet, and was a huge New England Patriots fan.
Wayne adored his family. He was the proud “dad” to his daughter Crystal and her husband Rob Comeau, proud “pops” to his son Chris and his wife Carrie Riendeau. Wayne was the beloved “Grampy” to Mindy and her husband Jarred Delorey, Joel Comeau, Marcus Riendeau, Miller Riendeau, and “Great-Grampy” to Ronin DeLorey. He also leaves siblings Skip (Maria) Riendeau, Necole (Kevin) Facko, Eric (Sarah) Riendeau, Naomi (Russ) Seitz, and Nathan (Shawna) Riendeau. He also leaves his cat, Spooky; nieces, nephews, and friends, including his “VFW family.” In addition to his parents, he was predeceased by sisters Celeste Riendeau and Nydia Riendeau.
A “Celebration of Wayne” is being planned for July 27, 2024, at the VFW in Putnam. To honor Wayne’s memory, consider adopting from, fostering through, or donating to your local animal shelter. To send an online expression of sympathy, please visit www.adamscremationct.com
