Author Visit
Pomfret Community School had a visit from Patricia Polacco, author and illustrator of more than 100 books including “Thank You Mr. Falker” and “The Blessing Cup.” She spoke to all students in the school about her experiences as an author illustrator and about important experiences from her life, including the fact that she was unable to read until she reached the age of 14. Each of her presentations was tailored to the grade levels she was speaking to. The visit was jointly sponsored by the PCS PTO and by funds raised by the school library book fair that was held in March. Writeup by Sue Peyton, PCS Library media specialist.
