Robbery at Global
gas station
PUTNAM — The Putnam Police Department is continuing its investigation of a robbery at the Global gas station on School Street.
Jan. 13 police responded to a 911 call reporting a robbery and found that a juvenile male, 17, had entered the gas station, implied that he had a weapon and stole cigarettes and vape products.
Police Captain Justin Lussier said “During the course of the robbery, a citizen entered the gas station and realized what was occurring.  As the suspect exited the store, the citizen attempted to hold the door closed and the juvenile forced his way out.  A physical altercation then occurred between the citizen and the juvenile in the parking lot, enabling the citizen to detain the juvenile until police arrived.” The juvenile was taken to Day Kimball Hospital for his injuries sustained in the altercation.  This investigation remains open and active.
