PUTNAM — After an investigation by the Putnam Police Patrol and Detective Divisions, with the assistance of the Windham County State’s Attorney’s Office, an arrest warrant was served on Yardley L. Davis, 37, at Danielson Superior Court last week.
According to Putnam Police Chief Christopher D. Ferace, the arrest stems from an incident in December of 2021, when the accused allegedly forcibly broke into a residence armed with a weapon, assaulted one of the occupants with a hammer, and stole property from the home. The injured occupant was taken to Day Kimball Hospital by ambulance and treated for non-life-threatening injuries. Davis was charged with: Home invasion, first-degree robbery, third-degree assault and fifth-degree larceny.
The accused, who is currently incarcerated on unrelated criminal charges, was transported to court for the service of the arrest warrant. All accused are innocent until proven guilty.
