POMFRET — The Pomfret Recreation Department held its annual fishing derby June 2 and saw its biggest turnout yet with well over 50 people in attendance at the Pomfret Rod & Game Club.

Recreation Director Carrie Wolfe thanked the Recreation Commission members who volunteered to help and all the local businesses that donated to this great community event. The Natchaug River Young Marines were on hand to help out and weight the caught fish.
