Recreation departments move toward collaboration
POMFRET — The Pomfret Recreation Department stepped up Quiet Corner collaboration recently when department director Carrie Wolfe organized a gathering of local recreation directors at the Pomfret Town Hall.
The meeting featured a roundtable discussion where each town shared updates on their respective Recreation Departments. This collaborative session allowed participants to ask questions, exchange ideas, and address concerns related to programs, events, and other initiatives.
Wolfe said: “It was a valuable opportunity to engage with one another and gain insight into how different towns manage various programs. It was also wonderful to put faces to names, and we are all eager to strengthen our relationships moving forward.”
She said the group has committed to holding Recreation Director meetings every other month. Wolfe said she is already working with the recreation departments of Brooklyn and Woodstock on two upcoming bus trips.
“As small towns, it is incredibly beneficial to support one another,” Carrie said. “This is a true example of community members coming together for mutual growth.”
