Multiple charges after accident
PUTNAM — A Danielson man was arrested Aug. 28 after a vehicle crash at the intersection of Gilman Street and Ravine Streets. 
Andrew W. Mongeon, 39, of no certain address in Danielson was charged with o0eprating under the influence of liquor or drugs, possession of crack cocaine, interfering with an officer and three counts of violation pf probation, according to Police Chief Christopher Ferace.
When the Putnam Police Department investigated, they found that Mongeon, the driver of  a 2011 Kia Rio was traveling north on Gilman Street at a high rate of speed and failed to negotiate the turn onto Ravine Street crashing into a legally parked landscape trailer. Putnam EMS also responded and Mongeon and his passenger were treated at the scene for minor injuries and both declined transport.
Mongeon, who was suspected of being under the influence of liquor or drugs at the time of the crash and found to be in possession of crack cocaine, was placed under arrest. He initially attempted to conceal his identity but was positively identified. Upon learning his true identity police discovered he had three outstanding arrest warrants for violation of probation. The Kia Rio was towed from the scene by wrecker service. Innocent until proven guilty.
