Putnam Science Academy Elite basketball on win streak
HAMDEN — Putnam Science Academy Men’s Elite basketball team was too much for Hamden Hall as the Mustangs won 73-52.  Ethan Graham led PSA with 14 points and 2 steals and Amyas Hall-Chiari had 13 points, 3 rebounds and 2 steals. Ethan Mvundura contributed 9 points in the win for the Mustangs as they moved to 4-1 on the season.
Prep Girls
HOOSAC, N.Y. — The Putnam Science Academy Prep Girls lost to the Hoosac School 57-43 to fall to 0-6 on the season. Paola Uwase was the leading scorer for the Mustangs with 15 points, 7 rebounds and 4 steals.  Valentina Vrcan contributed 14 points and 4 assists in the loss.
Varsity Girls
HOOSAC, N.Y. —The Varsity PSA Girls lost to the Hoosac School 55-49. Eilf Goskel scored 12 points to lead all Mustangs and also added 4 assists and 2 steals. Nika Milosavlijevic had 9 points with 4 rebounds and 2 blocks and Sofia Kankova chipped in 7 points, 8 rebounds and 2 steals in the loss.  Martyna Cieslar added 7 points, 4 rebounds and 4 assists as the Varsity Lady Mustangs fall to 1-2 on the season.
Elite Boys
BOSTON — The PSA Men’s Elite basketball team took on the Newman School and Newman came away with the victory 90-64 as the Mustangs couldn’t ever get going. Vadim Brezillion led the way for the Mustangs with 13 points and 2 assists. Ethan Mvundura also scored in double figures with 11 points and Amyas Hall-Chiari chipped in 9 points in the loss. The Mustangs record stands at 4-2.
Women’s 
PUTNAM — Head coach and PSA Women’s basketball alum Marigona Bacaliu got her first career win as the leader of her alma mater. Fatima Diouf was the leading scorer for the Mustangs, with 14 points, in their 61-27 win over Cushing Academy. Diouf also had 4 steals and 1 assist. Paola Kanoue had a strong game with 13 points, 3 rebounds, 3 assists and 2 steals. Layla Woodward was the third Mustang to score in double figures with 11 points to go along with 4 steals. Lilly Impey went for 6 points and 5 rebounds, while Valentina Vrcan had 5 assists and 2 steals. Bacaliu was part of the first ever women’s basketball team at Putnam Science Academy. This particular victory especially resonates with her. “For me it hits a little more personal being that I’m back here coaching at a place where I was once a player,” said Bacaliu. “Most importantly, it means a lot to the girls. We didn’t start off hot, how we wanted to this season. But we were able to build things as the season has gone on.” According to Bacaliu, the team was able to build upon the little things in this game that ultimately led to the victory. The team is 1-6 on the season.
Varsity Boys
POMFRET — KJ Cyr was the leading scorer for the Mustangs with 8 points in the 68-37 loss to the Rectory School. Cyr also had an assist and a steal as the Varsity Boys fell to 3-2 on the season.  Chris Maplanka had 7 points, 7 rebounds and 1 steal and Elias Garcia Quesada also added 7 points for PSA. Justinian Ciaobanu chipped in 6 points and 2 rebounds.
