Bus driver cited after accident
PUTNAM — Dec. 12 the Putnam Police Department and emergency services responded to an accident between a school bus and a car at the intersection of Wicker Street and Woodstock Avenue.
Bus driver Jeanne Scanlon of Putnam was issued a written warning for failure to obey traffic control.
Putnam Police said the school bus was on Wicker Street at the intersection of Woodstock Avenue, stopped for a red light. Before the light turned green, the bus started to pull out into the intersection and struck the passenger side of a Ford Explorer traveling eastbound on Woodstock Avenue operated by Wendy Young of Woodstock.
Eighteen students and two paraprofessionals were on the bus at the time of the accident.  No injuries were reported.
