Theodore Harakaly Sr.,
built lake
WOODSTOCK — Theodore M. Harakaly Sr., 66, of Underwood Road died Jan. 23, 2010 at UMass Medical Center.
He was born May 29, 1943, in Ashford, the son of the late Stephen and Florence (Currier) Harakaly.
He worked as a carpenter with the local union #24 for 35 years.
He enjoyed fishing, rock hounding, and hunting.
He was a very special man who could do anything he put his mind to.
Two of his greatest accomplishments were building a 44-acre lake in Ashford, along with his home for his family.
That lake, home, and an additional 300+ acres are now known as the Hole in the Wall Gang Camp.
He leaves his wife of 10 years, Maggie (Misch) Harakaly; two sons, Mitchell Harakaly of Mansfield and Theodore Harakaly Jr., of Lebanon; two daughters, Carolyn Bryan, of Eastford and Katherine Harakaly of Woodstock; two brothers, George Harakaly of Ashford and Charlie Harakaly of Eastford; two sisters, Sherry Lohnes of Florida and Nancy Varga of Pennsylvania; two stepchildren, David Ayau of Putnam and Joel Ayau of Woodstock; nine grandchildren; nephews and nieces.
He was predeceased by one brother, Stephen Harakaly, and one sister, Phyllis Lynch.
The Funeral was Jan. 30 in the Woodstock Congregational Church.

Roger P. Menard,
former supervisor
WOODSTOCK --- Roger P. Menard, 68, of Brickyard Road died Jan. 22, 2010, at UMass Memorial Medical Center, Memorial Campus, Worcester, after a long illness.
He was born in Southbridge, the son of the late Leon F. and Jeannette A. (Belanger) Menard.
Roger was a machinist/supervisor for A & M Tool & Die in Southbridge for over 40 years, retiring 5 years ago. He also was the maintenance manager for Laurel Ridge in Woodstock for over 40 years. Roger served as a constable in the Town of Woodstock for many years and also served as fire warden for the Town of Woodstock. He enjoyed snowmobiling, camping and taking his 5th wheel camper to Wells, Maine. He enjoyed woodworking and helped to build homes and furniture for his family.
He leaves his wife of 49 years, Mary Ann (LeBlanc) Menard; a son, Roger L. Menard and his wife Patricia of McKellar, Ontario, Canada; two daughters, Dorothy A. Cote and her husband Randy of Woodstock and Kimberly Menard of Woodstock; a brother, Paul R. Menard and his wife Linda of Southbridge; a sister-in-law, Rose Terragni and her husband Andrew of Wolfeboro, NH; three grandchildren, Matthew Cote of Woodstock, Marissa Cote of Brookline and Emily Menard of Woodstock; nieces and nephews. He was predeceased by his brother, Richard Menard.
His Funeral Mass was Jan. 26 in Notre Dame Church, Southbridge, with burial in the New Notre Dame Cemetery, Southbridge.

Daniel J. Williams

WEBSTER --- Daniel J. Williams, 46, of Wall Street, died Jan. 23, 2010. He was born in Putnam., son of Carol A. (Chapdelaine) and the late Daniel Joseph Williams Jr.
He was a member of the Liberty Social Club in Webster.
He leaves his mother and stepfather, Carol A. (Chapdelaine) Mahota and Herbert Mahota of Avon Park, Fla.; three sisters, Vicki Williams of Thompson, Donna Armstrong of Avon Park and Robyn A. Ledoux of Webster; a nephew Justin Ledoux of Dudley and a niece Amber Ledoux of Webster.

Helen Iwanicki,

CHICOPEE, Mass. --- Helen Iwanicki, 85, formerly Chicopee, died Jan. 14, 2010, at the Renaissance Manor of Westfield.
She was born in Chicopee, daughter of the late Joseph and Sophie (Kozik) Iwanicki and lived in Chicopee all her life. She was a retired factory worker.
She leaves two sisters, Josephine Zabielski of Westfield, and Lena Babula, wife of Edward Babula of Thompson.
The Funeral Mass was Jan. 16, in St. Stanislaus Basilica in Chicopee with burial in the parish cemetery.

John M. Vrabel,
WWII veteran
WEBSTER --- John M. Vrabel, 87, of Emil Street, died Jan. 26, 2010, after a short illness.
He was born in Dudley and raised in Thompson, a son of Martin and Anna (Tomasec) Vrabel.
He lived in Webster for many years.
He graduated from the trade school in Putnam.
He was an Army veteran of World War II.
Mr. Vrabel was a carpenter for Local Union #107.
He was a foreman at F. W. Madigan Company, Inc., in Worcester for many years. He retired in 1984.
He leaves his wife of 61 years, Mary C. (Egan) Vrabel; a son, Judge Paul M. Vrabel and his wife Mary E. of Pittsfield; a daughter-in-law, Louise M. Vrabel of Southbridge; five grandchildren, Meghan, Lindsay, Matthew, Timothy and Kathleen; a brother, Edward Vrabel of Spring, Texas; nephews and nieces. He was preceded in death by his son Mark E. Vrabel in 2005 and by five brothers and a sister.
The Funeral Mass was Jan. 29 in St. Louis Church, Webster, with burial in St. Anthony’s Cemetery.

Helena Klisiewicz,

WEBSTER --- Helena T. (Pietrowicz) Klisiewicz, 71, formerly of Granite Street, died Jan. 5, 2010, in UMass/Memorial Healthcare, Worcester. She was preceded in death by her husband of 46 years, Robert T. Klisiewicz, in 2006.
She was born and raised in Worcester, the daughter of Joseph and Irene (Wilczynski) Pietrowicz.
She graduated from Commerce High School in 1956. She moved to Webster at the time of her marriage in 1960.
Mrs. Klisiewicz was a shipper at Hallmark Optical in Webster for many years before retiring about 20 years ago.
She was a member of St. Louis Church. She enjoyed bingo, crocheting and doing jigsaw puzzles.
She leaves three daughters, Roberta A. Klisiewicz of Merrimack, N.H., Sandra A. Durand and her husband Michael of Woodstock, and Patricia A. MacInnes and her husband Daniel of Worcester; three grandchildren, Adam Durand, Michael MacInnes and Katherine MacInnes; two brothers, Anthony Pietrowicz and his wife Marilyn of South Yarmouth, Mass., and Steven Pietrowicz and his wife Patricia of Cresco, Penn.; nieces and nephews.
The Funeral Mass was Jan. 9 in St. Louis Church, Webster with urial in Calvary Cemetery, Dudley.
