POMFRET --- Putnam Bank recently announced the promotion of Deb Tavernier to branch manager at the Pomfret Center office and as an officer of Putnam Bank.
Tavernier joined Putnam Bank in 2001. She’s worked in banking since 1986.
Tavernier received a Certificate in Supervision from Quinebaug Valley Community College. She is a graduate of the Eastern Connecticut Chamber of Commerce’s Eastern Connecticut Leadership Program. And she has earned a long list of CFT diplomas in the banking industry including: General Banking, Commercial Lending, Consumer Credit, Bank Operations and Supervisory Skills.
Her community involvement is extensive. It includes: American Cancer Society Daffodil Day coordinator for Putnam Bank; American Cancer Society Relay for Life Eastern Area Event Chair 2006-2008; American Cancer Society Relay For Life Eastern Area Fund-raising Chair 2009; Central Village Fire District Secretary; Central Village Fire Department Treasurer; Pomfret Proprietors Organization; Snowflake Festival – Griswold; Youthtopia – Griswold; and American Red Cross Blood Drive Coordinator for Putnam Bank.
Recently Tavernier earned the “Unsung Hero Award” and the Eunice Shriver Award from Special Olympics Connecticut. Born in Baltimore, Tavernier now lives in Central Village with her husband of 37 years. The Taverniers have three children and seven grandchildren.
