Game 1
Triple Play Allstars 2 Cougars-1
April 24: In their second divisional set of games of the season, the 14U Cougars split the double header. The first game was a pitcher’s duel, with the Cougars coming up short. Adit Dharampurig got the complete game win in the 2-1 contest, holding the Cougars hitless in game 1. A walk and 2 errors let the Cougars put a run on, while TP combined for 4 hits to score twice. Will Bourgeois also pitched a complete game but suffered the loss.
Game 2
Cougars 10 Triple Play Allstars 2
In game 2, Ben Rumrill got the win in the 10-2 game, allowing four hits and 2 earned runs in the first three innings. Jesse Alexander doubled in the first, and had 2 RBI in this game. Rumrill tripled with one RBI, and Danny Murphy had a single, double, and triple, scoring twice and driving in one run. The Cougars played solid defense to hold TP to only 2 runs. Robert Newton pitched the last 4 innings allowing only 3 hits and no runs.
The 14U team’s record is now 5-3 overall and 3-1 in their division.
The 14U Cougars play against Triple Play Allstars at 9 a.m. May 2 at Nashoba Regional High School, in Bolton, Mass.
