POMFRET --- The Abington Social Library has scheduled its Annual Concert in the Park for June 5. It runs from 10 a.m. to dusk and will be held at the at the Pomfret Recreation Park. This day-long event of continuous music features seven live bands including the Delta Generators (the 2009 International Blues Challenge Finalist) and One Nite Stand, Johnny Press Mess, Mindset, Huxster, The Wade Elliott Band, and Back Eddy Bluegrass. Arts and crafts, baskets and an array of foods and beverages will be available. Bring your own blanket or chairs.
Proceeds will benefit the oldest continuously operating social library in the U.S. Tickets are $12 in advance; $15 at the gate; children 12 and under with an adult are free. Tickets: www.abingtonsociallibrary.org, at the library or Pomfret Town Hall, or by calling (860) 974-0415.
