Putnam Parade
PUTNAM --- Beginning this year the traditional Putnam Memorial Day Parade moves from Sunday afternoon to Monday morning with a 10 a.m. step off. Also the parade route is shortened slightly by turning left onto Church Street from Providence Street, a service with full military honors being held at Veterans Park and the addition of a Memorial Day speaking program in Rotary Park. Putnam’s bridges, monuments and cemeteries will be visited on Sunday morning for Memorial Day tributes by local veterans.

Woodstock 10K

Fund-raiser Concert
POMFRET --- The Abington Social Library will present its annual Concert in the Park from 10 a.m. to dusk at the Pomfret Recreation Park, 576 Hampton Rd.  Seven bands, arts and crafts, foods and more. Bring your own blanket or chairs. Audition
PUTNAM --- Open auditions will be held shall be held from 10 a.m. to 3 p.m. June 5 and from 1 to 3 p.m. June 6 at The Bradley Playhouse for the musical "Grease." Roles available: Pink Ladies/Cha-Cha/Patty/Female Ensemble (Aged teen to  adult);  Burger Palace Boys/Eugene/Male Ensemble (Aged teen to adult); Miss Lynch/Vince Fontaine/Johnny Casino/Teen Angel (Aged adult to mature adult); Gymnastic Tumblers – 2 male/2 female (Aged teen to adult).  Actor auditions will consist of a reading, choreography and vocal demonstration. Bike Rodeo
THOMPSON --- Thompson Recreation, the VFW Ladies Auxiliary Post 10088, the  Connecticut State Police Troop D are sponsoring a free Bicycle Rodeo for children ages 5-14 at 9 a.m. at Riverside Park. This  event will have a bicycle inspection, minor adjustments to the bicycles, bicycle registration, and  obstacle course, prizes and ribbons.  An adult must accompany children under 12.  Remember your  helmet.  Rain date: June 19.
