Trevor D. Renaud,

CANTERBURY — Trevor D. Renaud, 41, died May 22, 2010. He was the husband of Shelley (Deskus) Renaud. He was born March 11, 1969, in Putnam, son of David “Rick” and Gail (Soyden) Renaud of Woodstock. 
Trevor was employed for 19 years at Cargill Chevrolet in Putnam as sales manager. He was recently working for Lowe’s in Cromwell. He enjoyed playing golf, caring for his home, working in his yard and entertaining his family and friends by his pool. He had made his home in Canterbury for the last 10 years, was a youth soccer coach in Canterbury.
He leaves his wife Shelley; children, Haylee Renaud and Zachary Renaud, and stepchildren Tyler Fauxbel and Ashley Fauxbel, all at home; parents Rick and Gail; sister: Tracey Dunn (Stephen) of Hampton; maternal grandmother, Alma Soyden of Woodstock; father and mother-in-law Russell (Paula) Deskus of Putnam.
 A Mass of Christian Burial will be at 11 a.m. May 26 in Most Holy Trinity Church, Pomfret, followed by burial in Holy Cross Cemetery, Danielson. Virginia Doucette,

PUTNAM — Virginia M. Doucette, 81, formerly of Thompson died May 22, 2010, at Regency Heights of Danielson after a very long battle with Alzheimer’s Disease.  She was the wife of the late Robert J. Doucette.
Born in 1929 in Chelsea, Mass., she was the daughter of the late William J. Curran and Blanche Chambers.
Mrs. Doucette worked as an assembler for the former Sanitary Dash Co. in N. Grosvenordale.  She enjoyed bowling, crocheting and reading. 
She leaves three daughters, Carol Nadeau of Brooksfield, Fla., Linda Manis (Norman) of Inverness, Fla., and Doreen Cote (Doug) of Putnam;  daughter in law, Cathy-Joy Doucette of Thompson; sister, Blanche Doucette of Putnam; 12 grandchildren and 26 great-grandchildren. She was predeceased by her son Edward J. Doucette Sr. who died in 2009. 
Visitation is from 5 to 7 p.m. May 26 in Gilman Funeral Home, 104 Church St., Putnam, with a Funeral Service at 7 p.m. in the funeral home.  Burial will be private. Donations: Alzheimer’s Association, Massachusetts Chapter, 128 Providence St., Box 5, Worcester, MA 01604.

Robert G. Langlois,

STERLING — Robert G. Langlois, 67, of Sawmill Hill Road, died May 18, 2010, at home.  He was the  husband of Cynthia R. (Cusson) Langlois.  Born in 1942 in W. Thompson, he was the son of the late Arthur F. and Rita (Dumas) Langlois.
Mr. Langlois worked as an arborist for 18 years at Davey Tree, retiring in 2008.  He also worked security for Bensons Animal Farm.  He enjoyed NASCAR Racing and loved to fish.  He was a member of the former Putnam Irish Club.
In addition to his wife, with whom he just celebrated their 48th wedding anniversary; Robert leaves his son, Arthur G. Langlois of Hudson, N.H.; his daughter, Tina Langlois of Sterling; stepdaughters, Robin Jacobson of Manchester, N.H., and Dawn Heath-Ford of Santa Rosa, Calif.; sisters, Gloria Newth of Eastford, and Madeline St. Onge of Yellsville, Ariz.; grandchildren, Jarrod Jacobson, and Justess Bowels.

Elaine A. Perry,

PUTNAM — Elaine (Henderson) Perry, 85, of Kennedy Drive, died  May 23, 2010, in Day Kimball Hospital.  She was the wife of Charles H. Perry, Jr.  Born in 1924 in Patchogue, NY, she was the daughter of the late George and Julia (Layos) Henderson. Mrs. Perry was a homemaker. She enjoyed Foxwoods and playing bingo.
In addition to her husband, she leaves her grandchildren, Donna Dumas, Debbie Kellenberger, John Brisson, and Vicki Bousquet; her great-grandchildren, Michael Hart, Timothy Hart, Christie Vetter, Paul Stransky III, Shannon Monette, Heather Brisson, and Garrick Brisson; and one great great-grandson. She was predeceased by her daughter, the late Patricia Brisson.
Visitation is from 5 to 7 p.m. May 27 in the Gilman Funeral Home, 104 Church St., Putnam. 

Roger D. Hicks,

DANIELSON — Roger D. Hicks, 62, of Connecticut Mills Avenue, died  May 19, 2010, at home.
He was the husband of Maria E. (Meher) Hicks, They were married June 24, 1988. He was born Jan. 19, 1948, in Worcester, son of the late Raymond and Beatrice (Jacques) Hicks.
He leaves his wife Maria; son, Roger Hicks II; stepsons, George Tyler, Charles Simpkins; brother, Stanley Hicks (Cyndi) of Webster;  six grandchildren; best friends Herbert Mark and his wife Linda, Arthur Nason.

DANIELSON — Grace C. Mitchell, 81, of Dyer Street, formerly of Eastford, died May 18, 2010, after a short illness, at her daughter’s  home in Southbridge. She was born May 14, 1929, in Gatesville, N.C., daughter of the late Willie and Della (Bond) Freeman.She made her home in Eastford, raising her children. She was a great fan of country music. She leaves her children, Lloyd Mitchell of Pomfret, Barbara Mitchell of Storrs, Beverly Mitchell of Vernon, Grace Mominie of Southbridge, Dayle Mitchell of Oxford, Mass., Sherman Mitchell of Danielson, Shirley Mitchell of Columbia; siblings, Evelyn Roscoe of Waterbury, Willie Freeman Jr. of Gates County, N.C., Henry Grant Freeman of Gates County, Eddie Clark Freeman of Tyner, N.C., Rose Nowell of Gates County, Gerald Freeman of Waterbury, Ernest Freeman of Tulsa, Okla., grandchildren, Elizabeth, Bryon, Madyson, Shawn and Stephanie. She was predeceased by her daughter, Betty Mitchell and sister, Estelle Freeman.

 Beatrice Witalec,

DANIELSON — Beatrice Witalec, 86, of Danielson, died May 16, 2010 at home.. She was born Dec. 28, 1923, in Brooklyn, daughter of the late Anselme and Roseanna Bernier. She leaves her devoted husband of 56 years Stanley Witalec. They were married on Oct. 2, 1954, in St. James Church. Combining her love of helping others she also spent her time knitting.
She leaves nieces and nephews. She was predeceased by three brothers and two sisters: Leopold Bernier, Leonard Bernier, Roland Bernier, Blanche (Smurra) Cabana, and Lillian (Emond) Hall.
