WOODSTOCK --- Jeff Higgins pitched a five- hitter with five strikeouts and one BB and earned his first victory of the year in the Centaurs' trashing of Ledyard last week, 17-1.
Ross Lincoln, Paul Lindstrom, and Cody DeGray combined for seven hits and nine RBI.  Kevin Bonitz scored four runs and Higgins also helped himself with two hits.
With the victory the Woodstock Centaurs finished  9-11 on the year and played Fitch June 1 in Groton in the first round of the Class L state tournament.
Also Ross Lincoln and Paul Lindstrom were named first team ECC Large Division All -Stars and Zak Kozey was named Honorable Mention. Brady Matteau was named the Sportsmanship Award winner for the academy.
Lincoln and Lindstrom were selected to participate in the CHSCA Senior All Star game at Plainville High June 14. Head coach David Austin was selected to be the assistant coach for the same game. "This is quite an accomplishment for Woodstock Academy and for local baseball in general," said Austin.
