Antiques opening
DUDLEY --- New England Antiques announces its Grand Opening on Nov. 13 The store has an 8,000 square foot gallery, with a new second floor addition with different room “themes” such as Primitive, Federal, Victorian, Retro and Mid-century Modern. The store is located at 137 Schofield Ave. (Rt. 12) . It is open from 11 a.m. to 5 p.m. Fridays and Saturdays and from 11 a.m. to 3 p.m. Sundays.
New England Antiques features furniture such as Stickley, Heywood Wakefield, Hitchcock, and Danish Modern designers, as well as traditional items from Victorian, Deco and other eras. The store has a strong focus on fine china, glass, and pottery, with an extensive inventory of art, collectibles, décor and other items. New England Antiques caters to everyone, from collectors and buyers that are looking to furnish their home, to interior decorators seeking specialty items, to dealers and trade members.
New England Antiques is operated by Consignworks, Inc., a professional estate sale and resale company that runs weekly estate sales and fund-raising events in Massachusetts. This past year, the company sold a variety of antiques, décor and other items for the sets of two Hollywood sets, including Dreamworks’ new movie “Cowboys and Aliens” starring Daniel Craig, and the movie “Something Borrowed” starring Kate Hudson.
“Due to the rapid growth of our retail operations and new markets, we decided to spin-off the store as New England Antiques, and expand it to handle the volume of merchandise we receive,” said Tana Scouras, president and founder. Tana is a local entrepreneur, and former founder of a high-tech company in Massachusetts. She teamed up with Deidra Witschorke, an antiques specialist for over 25 years.
