All-American
team for 2011
THOMPSON --- Marianapolis basketball stand-out Zach Chionuma was nominated for the 2011 McDonalds All-American Team. Zach is one of 1,700 high school seniors to be nominated nationwide, and one of only 14 in Connecticut.
On Feb. 10, ESPN will announce the final 24 boys selected play in the McDonalds All American High School Basketball game broadcasted on ESPN from Chicago March 28th.
Previous team finalists include basketball greats Shaquille O’Neal, Magic Johnson, and Michael Jordan.
“We believe he is the first Marianapolis student-athlete to receive this honor,” said head basketball coach Andrew Vitale.
