PUTNAM --- The Putnam Middle School softball team lost to Pomfret Community School April 26 in Putnam by a score of 5-3. Hits for Putnam were by Natalia Atencio and Maria Fredette. Rylee Hehir pitched seven innings and had 16 strikeouts for the Wolfpack with exceptional catching by 6th grader Lindsay Roberts.
The Putnam girls played May 3 against the middle school staff in the 2nd annual student/staff game with canned goods being collected to benefit Daily Bread in Putnam. They play May 4 against Parish Hill at Parish Hill; and May 6 at home against Lisbon.. Putnam is now 1-1 on the season.
