Town of Pomfret
Annual Town Meeting - MAY 25, 2011
Referendum – JUNE 2, 2011
The legal voters and citizens qualified to vote in Town Meeting of the Town of Pomfret are hereby warned to meet at the Pomfret Community School Cafeteria, Pomfret, Connecticut on Wednesday, May 25, 2011 at 7:00 P.M. to act upon the following articles:
Article 1: To choose a Moderator for said meeting.
Article 2: To see if the Town will consider and adopt the Five Year Local Capital Improvement Plan for fiscal year 2011 – 2012 as proposed by the Board of Selectmen.
Article 3: To hear and act upon the report of the Selectmen, Town Treasurer, Treasurer of the Local School Fund, Board of Education, and Auditor, as published by the Board of Finance for the fiscal year ending June 30, 2010.
Article 4: To see if the Town will accept the following cemetery funds for perpetual care: Abington Cemetery Association – Robert Ellsworth, Jr. and Stephanie Austin, Graves #1023-#1024 deTallyrand Annex, $200.00; Jessica Eckard, Grave #1021 deTallyrand Annex, $100.00; Patrick Collins, Graves #1017-#1020 deTallyrand Annex, $400.00; Raymond and Lillian R. Erskine, Graves #433-436 deTallyrand Annex, $400.00; and Pomfret Cemetery Corp. – Katherine A. Foisey, Yard 3 West Lot 8, $100.00.
Article 5: To see if the Town will adopt a budget appropriation in the total amount of $11,461,418 with $2,303,338 of said amount to be the General Government Appropriation and $9,158,080 of said amount to be the Board of Education Appropriation, the same to be funded by estimated revenues as recommended by the Board of Finance.
Article 6: To do any other business proper to come before said meeting.
NOTICE OF ADJOURNED ANNUAL TOWN MEETING
Pursuant to the Connecticut General Statutes, Section 7 – 7, as amended, the Selectmen have submitted Article 5 to a vote by paper ballot on a day to be set by the Town Meeting, not less than seven or more than fourteen days thereafter, between the hours of 6:00 AM to 8:00 PM. In absence of objection said Referendum shall be held on Thursday, June 2, 2011. Electors and persons qualified to vote in town meetings who are not electors shall vote at:

20 Pomfret Street
Pomfret, Connecticut
The aforesaid Article 5 will be placed on the paper ballot under the following heading:
“Shall the Town adopt the budget in the total amount of $11,461,418 with $2,303,338 of said amount to be the General Government Appropriation and $9,158,080 of said amount to be the Board of Education Appropriation?”
Voters Approving said question will vote “YES” and those Opposing said question will vote “NO”. Absentee Ballots will be available, in person only, in the Town Clerk’s Office between the hours of 8:30 AM and 5:00 PM on Mondays, Tuesdays, & Thursdays, and 8:30 AM and 6:00 PM on Wednesdays, beginning on Thursday, May 26, 2011 at 8:30 AM until 6:00 PM on Wednesday, June 1, 2011.
