The Pomfret Youth Lacrosse Boys Junior B Team traveled to Tolland May 25 finessed their way to an 8-3 victory.  The local boys started slowly, falling behind 1-2 after the first quarter.  The lone Pomfret goal came from Peyton Durand off a Tucker Sheehan assist.
In the second quarter, Pomfret’s defense toughened up and kept Tolland off the scoreboard.  Defensemen Lex Bosio, Josh Bernier, and Ryan Gravier played solid team defense in front of goalie Corbin Schneider.  On the offensive side of the field, Ryan Black recorded an unassisted goal followed by Durand’s second goal of the game off a Black feed.  The team took a 3-2 lead into the half.
In the second half, Josh McFadden replaced Schneider in the goal.  Midfielders William Liscomb, Sam Paul, and Mason Defocy played very well at both ends of the field while attackmen Colin LeSage, Carson Hadley and Christian Santangini kept the pressure on the Tolland goalie.  Pomfret was able to extend its lead in the third quarter with another Durand goal/Sheehan assist, and Ryan Black would push the score to 5-2 with his second goal of the game.
Tolland was able to get one goal back in the fourth quarter, but Pomfret’s Isaiah Price and Connor Quinn would each notch unassisted goals, and Nick Alessandro would also finish off a nice Ryan Black assist.  The victory now puts the team’s record at 9-3; they will travel to Bloomfield and RHAM for league games this week.
