Gets grant
DANIELSON --- The Last Green Valley, Inc. (TLGV) recently received a $250 grant from the Rhode Island Canoe/Kayak Association to improve paddling safety on the Quinebaug River. TLGV will use the grant funds to purchase stream gauges that will be installed at six put-in and take-out locations on the Quinebaug River. The gauges help paddlers determine whether water levels are too high or too low.
The Quinebaug River Water Trail system includes more than 30 miles of publically-accessible paddling, from the family-friendly National Recreation Canoe Trail in Holland and Brimfield, Mass., to experienced-paddlers-only whitewater in Killingly.
