Honored
Two Putnam Police Department officers were honored recently by Mothers Against Drunk Driving of Connecticut. Officer Nikolos Sezenias, right, and Officer Donna Brown were recognized for their exceptional work in the area of education and community involvement. Both officers have worked on educating teenagers on the dangers of drunk driving. In May both officers participated in a mock car crash at the Putnam High School. The purpose of this mock car crash was to bring awareness to the dangers of drinking and driving. Taking part in the mock car crash were: Putnam High School, SADD, Putnam Fire Department, East Putnam Fire Department, Putnam EMS, KB Ambulance, Day Kimball Hospital, Life Star, Gilman Funeral Home, NEC Bodyworks, Brio Academy and more. Sezenias and Brown were the first Putnam Police officers ever to receive a MADD award. Courtesy photo.
