DAYVILLE — Westview Health Care Center recently shed light on prevention and wellness through an educational program for their employees called “The Summer Hallway of Health” presented by Education and Communications Coordinator Linda J. Colangelo from The Northeast District Department of Health (NDDH).
Employees enjoyed educational exhibits on severe weather preparedness, Lyme disease prevention, rabies, healthy eating, and active living. Asthma sufferers also learned how to breathe easier with NDDH’s free Putting on AIRS Asthma Assessment Program.
“Summertime brings sun, fun, and plenty of warm-weather activities so we added a touch of public health awareness for our employees and their families,” said Administrator David T. Panteleakos. “We are certainly impressed with the Northeast District Department of Health’s resources and support.”
“NDDH was delighted to partner with Westview to bring health and wellness information to such a large group of employees,” said Colangelo. “Preventing illness and promoting healthier lifestyles in the workplace helps employees to lead to happier, healthier, and more productive lives in general. That, in turn, benefits families and the community-at-large. We thank Westview for being a valued partner in the northeast Connecticut public health system.”
