PUTNAM — The Theatre of Northeastern Connecticut at the Bradley Playhouse is replacing its October production of “Nevermore” with Frederick Knott’s chiller “Wait Until Dark.” The show opens Oct. 7.
“Wait Until Dark” is the story of a blind woman who is terrorized by a trio of thugs while they search for a heroin stuffed doll they believe is in her apartment. The 1967 movie version starred Audrey Hepburn, Alan Arkin, Richard Crenna and Efrem Zimbalist Jr.
Auditions for the production will be from noon to 2 p.m. Aug. 27 and from 1 to 3 p.m. Aug. 28 at the Bradley Playhouse. The director is William Corriveau and he is assisted by Paul Neuhardt. The roles are 1 girl age 9-11, 1 woman age 22-36 and 6 men age 22-50.
