PUTNAM — Sept. 25 is the make-up date for Putnam’s Main Street Car Cruise. The event was postponed from a very rainy Aug. 14.
Registration for the Main Street Car Cruise begins at 8:00 a.m.  Admission is free for spectators, show cars and motorcycles and the first 1,000 cars will receive a dash plaque.
The Main Street Car Cruise will be held from 10:30 a.m. to 5:00 p.m.  This is the sixth year for the Main Street Car Cruise, the area’s fastest growing car cruise.  Last year, more than 2,000 cars were on display in downtown Putnam.
Main Street, Livery Street, Union Square and a portion of Kennedy Drive will be blocked to traffic and filled with show cars.
Cars will also be on display at Rotary Park.  This year’s show will feature a motorcycle stuntman in the municipal parking lot on Kennedy Drive.  A special area to show motorcycles will also be available at the municipal parking lot.  Rolling Burnouts return this year at 2:30 p.m. in the parking lot behind the old Hale Mill on Pomfret Street with foot traffic access across from WINY.
