Marie Lillibridge,

WOODSTOCK — Marie (Mathurin) Lillibridge, 68, died. Aug. 22, 2011, at home after a battle with brain cancer. She was predeceased by her husband of 22 years, Robert Lillibridge.
Born in 1943 in Putnam, she was the daughter of the late Henry and Laurette (Phaneuf) Mathurin.
She worked for Smith Mechanical of Webster as a bookkeeper and was a long time employee of Rawley Plumbing in Putnam. Marie loved to travel all over the world with her husband Robert. She continued to travel with the Royal Travelers afterward and made many new friends. She loved to knit, play Bingo, and laugh with her many friends. Most of all she loved her cat “Coozie Marie.”
She leaves her sister and brother-in-law Juliette and Albert Bradley, brothers and sisters-in-law, William and Linda Lillibridge, Richard Lillibridge, Dennis Lillibridge; her nieces and nephews, Laurie and Jim Pinkston, Kevin and Laurie Bradley, Cathy Major and Anderson Hall, Lori Carter, Jason Lillibridge, William Lillibridge Jr., Tammy Till, John Lillibridge Jr., and Nicole Lillibridge. Marie was predeceased by her brother in-law, John Lillibridge.

Robert Lajeunesse,

N. GROSVENORDALE — Robert A. Lajeunesse, 90, Riverside Drive, died Aug. 21, 2011, in Regency Heights of Danielson. He was the husband of Betty Lajeunesse.
Born in 1921 in Burlington, Vt., he was the son of the late Alcide and Donalda (Lavigne) Lajeunesse.
Mr. Lajeunesse worked as a foreman for Rison Mills. He was a member of the VFW in Putnam, the American Legion Post #67, and a charter member of the Valley Springs Sportsman’s Club.
In addition to his wife, he leaves his son, Michael A. Lajeunesse of N. Grosvenordale; his daughter, Ruth Simmons of Thompson; brother, George Lajeunesse of Putnam; grandchildren, Roxanne Rhault, Ron Rhault, and Val Haggerty; great-grandchildren, Patrick Haggerty, Montana Haggerty, Evan Rhault, and Drew Rhault.
Visitation is at 9 a.m. Sept. 1 in Valade Funeral Home, 23 Main St., N. Grosvenordale, followed by a Funeral Service at 10 a.m. in the funeral home. Burial will follow in W. Thompson Cemetery. Jeannette Caisse,

DAYVILLE — Jeannette M. Caisse, 70, of Primrose Crossing, died Aug. 25, 2011, in Worcester. Born in 1940 in Putnam, she was the daughter of the late Joseph Leo Nadeau and Rose Desrosiers.
Mrs. Caisse worked as a machine operator for Putnam Braid and later as a teacher’s aide at St. Mary’s School. She enjoyed classical music and reading. She was a member of the Daughter’s of Isabella as well as the American-French Genealogical Society. Her door was always open to lend her listening ear and to give advice
She leaves her sons Richard Caisse of Dayville, David Caisse of Seekonk, Mass.,, Derrick Caisse of Chaplin; her daughter, Robin Carpenter of Plainfield; her sisters Rosanne Robert of Iberville, P.Q. Canada, Lucienne Smith of Milford, Yolande Lazarou of Dayville, Anita Masi of Danielson; eight grandchildren. Jeannette was predeceased by her sister, Irene Ethier.

Joseph L. Coderre,

GULF PORT,Fla. — Joseph Larry Coderre, 88, of Gulf Port, formerly of Erie, Penn., entered into eternal life with Jesus Christ his Lord and Savior on June 12, 2011, in Gulf Port.
He was born March 6, 1923, in N. Grosvenordale, the son of the late Philippe and Amanda Martin Coderre. Larry attended St. Joseph Catholic School in N. Grosvenordale, and Assumption Prep in Worcester and served in the U.S. Navy during WWII. Following the war he worked as an X-ray and lab tech in hospitals.
He was a man of great faith who attended St. Andrew Catholic Church while living in Erie. He truly loved following the lives and activities of his children and grandchildren.
Besides his parents, many brothers and sisters and young son Philippe Clair Coderre, he was predeceased by his wife of 63 years, Dolores Norton Coderre who died in 2008.
He leaves his sister, Adrienne D. Coderre, 104, at Westview Healthcare in Dayville, a son Joseph Coderre (Patricia) of Mt. Holly, N.C.; four daughters, Joyce Chapman (Gerry) of Peoria, Ariz., Ginger Mang-Finnecy (Bob) of Greenfield, Wisc., Janine Reagan of Gulf Port, and Pauline Tucker (Warren) of Wairarapa, New Zealand; 12 grandchildren, 17 great-grandchildren.

John H. Leins Jr.,

BROOKLYN — John H. Leins, Jr., 61, of Brooklyn, died Aug. 24, 2011, at UMass Memorial Hospital in Worcester.
He was the husband of Marion (Currier) Leins. They were married on May 3, 1969. Born Sept. 1, 1949, in White Plains, N.Y., he was the son of the late John H. Sr., and Marjorie (McNiff) Leins.
John was a lifelong resident of Pomfret, most recently moving to Brooklyn. John worked as a production planner at Whitcraft in Eastford. John was a member and former trustee of the First Congregational Church of Pomfret. He was an avid history buff, loved to make models and thoroughly enjoyed extreme road racing.
In addition to his wife Marion, he leaves two daughters Cherish Greene of Newark, Del., and Rikki Leins of Putnam; sister Pamela Robbins of Willimantic; three grandchildren Tabitha, Jesse, and Amara.

Leonard P. Maynard,

DAYVILLE — Leonard Paul Maynard (Lenny, Big Len, Big Papa) 70, of Dayville, died Tuesday Aug. 23, 2011, at home.
Len was born March 5, 1941, in Middletown, son of Alice Maynard and the late Marvin Maynard. He was the husband of Barbara (Codding) Maynard. They were married Nov. 7, 1964, in Foxboro, Mass.
Len graduated from Bacon Academy of Colchester, in 1959 and UConn College of Agriculture in 1964 where he served in the Army Reserves for six years. He was also president of his fraternity, Alpha Gamma Rho.
He worked for over 30 years in the restaurant industry beginning with Brock Hill Dairy 1964-1970, owner of Bosworth Farm Dairy and owner of Maygold Farms Ice Cream plant and six restaurants throughout Connecticut and Massachusetts.
After his retirement from the restaurant business, he began working at Nissan of Norwich in 2004 where he received multiple accolades including “salesman of the century”. He was involved with the Elks Club of Danielson, Past Exhaulted Ruler 1978-1979 and chairman of various charities relating to the Elks. He also served as president of New England Ice Cream Restaurant Association, chairman and host of the annual Maynard 4th of July celebration.
He leaves his mother Alice Maynard; wife Barbara; four children, Amanda Zadora, Samantha Maloney, Leonard “Patrick” Maynard and Megan Crescimanno; special daughter Katie Quigley, son in laws Shawn Zadora and Steven Crescimanno and daughter in law Naomi Carretta; grandchildren Jacob and Riley Zadora, Caden and Landen Maloney and Bryce Maynard. He is preceded in death by son Kevin Thomas Maynard, father Marvin Maynard, sister Jean Moroch and foster brother Paul Sarrette.
Lenny loved to say, “Go Big or Go Home” and that is exactly how he lived his life. tremendously.

NAUGATUCK — Gerald Edward Sacknoff “Jerry”, 54, of Naugatuck, died Aug. 21, 2011, at home.
He was born May 5, 1957, in Pomona, Calif., son of Burton and Margaret Sacknoff of Brooklyn. He graduated from Masuk High School in Monroe, and worked for the Coca-Cola Company in Stamford. Jerry loved baseball and was an avid NY Mets fan and enjoyed collecting sports memorabilia. Jerry also loved country music and other popular music.,
He leaves his parents Burton and Margaret Sacknoff; sisters, Joy Mark of Storrs, Carol Coley (David) of Colombia, Donna of New Orleans; nieces and nephews, Molly, Brian, Adam, Rachel and Kelly; girlfriend Roseanna Tan; pets Max and KC.

Carol Ann Witkowski,

DANIELSON — Carol Ann Witkowski, formerly of Putnam, died Aug. 28, 2011, at UMass Memorial Hospital, University Campus, Worcester.
Carol was born on July 5, 1948, in Putnam, daughter of the late Paul and Pauline Witkowski. She made her home in Putnam for many years.
Prior to her death, she lived at Regency Heights in Danielson. She was a graduate of Putnam Catholic Academy, a communicant of St. Mary Church of the Visitation. She enjoyed arts and crafts, painting, watercolor and oil.
She worked as an office clerk for Belding for many years.
She leaves her sister Theresa Trainor (James Sr.) of Worcester; nieces, nephews, aunts, uncles, cousins and sister-in-law. She was predeceased by a brother Stanley Witkowski and a nephew Joseph Trainor.
Calling hours are from 9:30 to 10:30 a.m. Sept. 3, at Smith & Walker Funeral Home, 148 Grove St., Putnam, followed by a Mass of Christian Burial at 11 a.m. at St. Mary Church of the Visitation, Putnam, with burial in St. Mary Cemetery, Putnam.
Lloyd Mathewson,

DANIELSON – Lloyd C. Mathewson, 81, of Danielson, died Aug. 20, 2011, at Westview Healthcare Center after a brief illness.
Mr. Mathewson was born Jan. 22, 1930, in Providence, son of the late Lloyd C. and Beatrice (Rivers) Mathewson. He was the husband of Eva (Gaudreau) Mathewson. They were married June 11, 1955, at St. James Church. Mr. Mathewson served in the U.S. Army from 1951 to 1953 and was a Korean war veteran. He worked for more than 30 years at InterRoyal in Plainfield until his retirement.
He was a communicant of St. Anne Church in Ballouville and St. James Church in Danielson. He enjoyed the outdoors, working in his yard and flower garden.
Besides his wife Eva he leaves his daughters, Brenda Mathewson (Carl Stafford), who was like a son to him, of Manchester, and Linda Mathewson of Quaker Hill; granddaughter Natalie Stafford; brother-in-law Lionel Gaudreau; sisters-in-law Yvette Lafantasie and Evelyn Mazzarella.
The Mass of Christian Burial was Aug. 24 at St. James Church with burial in Holy Cross Cemetery with full military honors. Tillinghast Funeral Home, Danielson.
Donald Nash Sr.,

DANIELSON — Donald L. Nash Sr., of Danielson died Aug. 17, 2011, at Regency Heights of Danielson. He was born Sept. 8, 1937, in Rahway, N.J., son of the late Edwin J. and Elizabeth Maude (Lydic) Nash.
He was the husband of Helga (Lesny) Nash. She died on Jan. 22, 2008. Mr. Nash served in the U.S. Navy and was a Vietnam veteran.
He leaves his children, William L. Nash (Michele) of Norwich, Don L. Nash II (Paula) of Brooklyn, Patricia M. Haas (Douglas) of Brandywine, Penn., and Robert A. Nash (Kathryn) of Sterling; nine grandchildren, four great grandchildren.
