WOODSTOCK --- The Board of Trustees in June approved a Woodstock Academy co-ed hockey team that's soon to begin the 2011-2012 season.
The team will be a member of the ECC Conference.
The program is entirely self-funded with funding to be provided by donors, fund-raising, pledges, sponsors  and more.
A group called the Hat Trick Committee, consisting of community members, parents, alumni, business leaders among others, are in charge of raising the money.
There will be no user fee to the student-athletes. Home games and practices will be held at Pomfret School’s Jahn rink.
There are fund-raisers already in place including a Glow Golf Tournament held at Roseland Golf Course on Oct. 1.
