POMFRET --- The 27th Annual Pomfret Hunter Pace is offering the equestrian community the opportunity to participate in Pace for a Purpose. Proceeds from this equestrian fund raising effort will benefit the Day Kimball Healthcare Deary Memorial Cancer Fund. Riders who are registered for the Pomfret Hunter Pace will now have the option to collect donations for  Pace for a Purpose. With the addition of Pace for a Purpose, riders will  be able to serve their community and make this hunter pace even better knowing that they will be helping local cancer patients. All funds raised stay in northeast Connecticut supporting 13 towns and are used to assist people in need of mammograms, ultrasounds, medications, travel, prostate screening, child care, surgical procedures and much more. This fund also helps support the Thomas C. Deary Scholarship, a program helping individuals pursuing careers in the field of radiology.
If you are planning on riding in Pomfret Hunter Pace held Oct. 9, consider participating in Pace for a Purpose this year. As a registered rider, you are eligible for all awards, door prizes, gifts, and food provided by the Pomfret Hunter Pace.
Riders who raise a minimum of $50 in donations will receive a special thank you gift. No minimum donation is required to participate. Donations can be sent in with your registration, mailed in after you have registered to Pace for a Purpose, P.O. Box 208, Pomfret, CT, or submitted on the day of the event.
