Notice of
Town Meeting
September 19, 2011
The Electors and Citizens qualified to vote in the Town Meeting of the Town of Putnam, Connecticut, are hereby notified and warned that a Town Meeting of said Town will be held at the Selectmen’s Chamber, 126 Church Street, Putnam, Connecticut on Monday, September 19, 2011, at 7:30 in the evening for the following purposes:
1. To choose a moderator for said meeting.
2. To determine the wishes of those present and eligible to vote at Town Meeting of the Town of Putnam upon the following proposed Resolution:
BE IT RESOLVED, by the Town Meeting of the Town of Putnam that the Mayor and Board of Selectmen are hereby authorized, on behalf of the Town, to accept those certain tracts or parcels of land and easements from the State of Connecticut Department of Transportation on or adjacent to Park Street resulting from the reconstruction of Park Street and necessary for highway purposes. Said tracts or parcels of land are more particularly described in the Quit Claim Deed from the State of Connecticut Department of Transportation dated December 29, 2010. A copy of which Deed is on file in the Mayor’s Office and available for public inspection during normal business hours.
3. To determine the wishes of those present and eligible to vote at Town Meeting of the Town of Putnam upon the following proposed Resolution:
BE IT RESOLVED, by the Town Meeting of the Town of Putnam that the Mayor and Board of Selectmen are hereby authorized on behalf of the Town to sell a certain tract or parcel of land known as Putnam Industrial Park Lot 5-1 and shown as Map 038, Block 064, Lot 000 on the Assessor’s Records of the Town of Putnam to Robert R. Fournier, Jr. or his successors and assigns for a price of $45,000.00. It being understood that the Town of Putnam shall convey said premises by Quit Claim Deed subject to such reservations, restrictions and covenants as of record appear or may be required by the Putnam Economic Development Commission. Said tract or parcel of land contains approximately 2.02 acres.
