'Circle' Success
PUTNAM --- St. Mary Parish “Circle of Fun” enjoyed sunny and cool temperatures for its 40th annual fair on the grounds of St. Mary Parish.  Well attended, it appears to be another successful year.  The event began Friday evening with a blessing by Rev. David Choquette, pastor of St. Mary Parish and concluded Sunday evening with the drawing of five great prizes including tickets to a New England Patriots game.
Those attending the Circle of Fun enjoyed free entertainment for all ages which included music and martial arts demonstrations, a large variety of food, game booths, bingo and rides.  The big flea market began Thursday night with an early bird special and continued through Sunday with something for everyone.
Chairpersons Chrissy and John Daviau and John and Pam Foucault expressed their feelings with cheers of joy at the conclusion of festivities, not due to the weekend ending but because of the community support witnessed throughout the weekend.  Approximately 150 volunteers, ranging in age from 10 to 80 contributed to the success of this 40 year event.  Plans have already begun for the 41st annual “Circle of Fun” to be held in 2012, according to Paul R. Desautels, publicity chairman.
