PUTNAM — Joseph J. Voccio  recently joined the staff of Putnam Bank as assistant vice president and Commercial Loan officer.  “We are pleased to welcome Joe to Putnam Bank,” said Thomas A. Borner, chairman and CEO of the bank.   “He brings a wealth of knowledge and expertise to the bank through his 19 years of experience with the Rhode Island Housing and Mortgage Finance Corporation and will be a valued addition to the Putnam Bank family.”
Voccio received a bachelor’s in marketing from Rhode Island College and an MBA in finance from Bryant University.  Active in community affairs in his hometown of Brooklyn, Voccio has served as chairman of  the Board of Finance, chairman of Capital Budgeting Committee, and is currently on the Building Committee for renovation to the middle school. 
Voccio was formerly a bullpen catcher for the Pawtucket Red Sox, the AAA affiliate of the Boston Red Sox.  He was past host of SportsTalk on WINY 1350, and has had articles published in USA Today’s Baseball Weekly and the 2005 Pawtucket Red Sox Official Program.
