squirrels at odds

It couldn't be any worse that last winter!
The Farmer's Almanac is calling for "near normal" temperatures and precipitation for the coming winter months.
In November, the almanac forecasts slightly below normal temperatures and near normal precipitation. Snow is forecast for the sections near the mountains for most weekends in November.
December's forecast calls for temperatures near normal and precipitation a bit above normal. Chances are good for a white Christmas as snow is forecast for sections near the mountains Dec. 3-6, 11-14, 17-18, 24-25 and 30-31.
In January it's "near normal" across the boards. Snow is forecast for January 3-6, 11-14, 20-21, 28-30. The almanac calls for the last storm of the month to be the strongest.
February shows slightly above normal temperatures and precipitation with snow striking February 7-9, 13-16, 21-23 and 27-29 with the last storm being the strongest.
In March the almanac predicts near normal precipitation and slightly above normal temperatures. Snow is predicted March 8-12, 17-20 and 27-30. The almanac also says that it will be "quite warm before the storms."
April's temperatures and precipitation will be slightly above normal with snow-rain predicted for April 7-11, 19-22 and 27-30.
BUT, if you ask the squirrels, they forecast a much colder, snowy winter. Squirrels started early and continue a frenzied race to bury nuts, nuts and more nuts.
