CHEPACHET — Dr. Jean Resnevic of Lincoln, R.I., joined her father, Dr. George Resnevic in the senior Dr. Resnevic’s dental practice on Putnam Pike.
She brings to the office new skills and treatment possibilities, including expertise in children’s dentistry, extractions and minor orthodontic procedures. In addition, her coming to Chepachet will mean expanded and more convenient office hours for the patients of the dental practice.
“I am obviously very proud to have my daughter join me in practice,” Dr. George said. “She brings a wealth of new expertise to the office, and there is something that feels very ‘right’ about working with a member of my family.”
‘Dr. Jean’, who grew up in Lincoln, graduated cum laud from The George Washington University. She studied dentistry at Temple University Dental School in Philadelphia, where she graduated sixth in her class and was inducted into the prestigious OKU Dental Honor Society. She did a residency in General Dentistry at the University of Michigan in Ann Arbor, and has spent two years in private practice in Austin, Texas.
“Being near family and my oldest friends is important to me,” said Dr. Jean. “Traveling around the country has taught me a lot, but one of the most important lessons anyone can learn is the importance of keeping strong personal ties.”
Her ties to Chepachet are certainly strong- and long. She will be working in a building that was built in the 1950s to accommodate her grandfather, George Resnevic, MD’s, general medical practice. In those days, before urgent care facilities existed, medical offices like the Resnevics’ were a primary source of both routine and urgent medical care. In the 1960s, the medical practice was assumed by Dr. Jean’s grandmother, Stan Resnevic, MD., who practiced there until the ‘90s when she retired. Dr. Jean’s father and his colleague Dr. Kerri-Rae Agin then converted the facility to a dental office.
The office that Dr. Jean now joins has been intentionally kept small to offer personalized care, but it bristles with all kinds of d technology, including computers everywhere, digital everything, and lasers and ultrasonic equipment. “While she was in school, I kept modernizing the office in hopes my daughter would someday join us” beamed the proud father, ‘Dr. George’.
The practice truly is becoming a family affair. Dr. Jean’s mother, Linda Resnevic, continues to be the Office Manager. And Dr. George is not going anywhere either. The doctors have agreed to split up the work week, so that the office will now be open on Monday through Friday.
