Quest Martial Arts' Kristin Finnemore took the crown for second-degree black belt at the women's only karate tournament held Oct. 15. The Charland Institute hosted the event to raise money for breast cancer research. Quest students Tami Hopkins, Julia Gilloran and Finnemore competed. Finnemore won over Meriden Black Belt Helena Rodriguez by a score of 5-4. Her name will be added to a perpetual cup that will rotate annually to the reigning women's champion.
