Caroline Long,

PUTNAM — Caroline Long, 66, died Nov. 4, 2011 at Regency Heights Nursing Home in Danielson.
She was born Aug. 13, 1945, in Putnam, daughter of the late Calvin and Alice (Strickland) Long.
She was married in 1961 to the love of her life, Gerard Morin. He died in 1978 in a car accident.
She was employed by Acme Cotton and also worked in healthcare in the area. She loved to dance, was a fan of Conway Twitty and loved playing games.
She leaves a son Joshua James of Putnam; brothers Clayton Long of Plainfield and Herbert Long of Putnam; sisters Clara Sylvia of Dayville, Martha Kemp of N. Woodstock, Alice Mailloux of Plainfield, Dorothy Benoit of E. Killingly. She was predeceased by a brother George Long.

Louis Jennings,

BROOKLYN — Louis Jennings, 64, of Bailey Street, died Nov. 2, 2011, in Day Kimball Hospital. Born in 1946 in Welch, W.Va., he was the son of the late Frank and Opal (Bailey) Jennings.
Mr. Jennings worked at Anchor Glass until his retirement. He enjoyed spending time with his family.
He leaves his brothers, Richard, Douglas, Robert, William, Garnet, and Charles; sisters, Judy, Vickie, and Elizabeth; nephew Leslie.
Services are private. Gilman Funeral Home, 104 Church St., Putnam.
Ruth Thayer
Sheppard
PLAINFIELD — Ruth Thayer (Chamberlain) Sheppard, 91, formerly of Woodstock Avenue, Putnam, died Nov. 4, 2011 in Worcester. Born in 1920 in Chelsea, Mass.,, she was the daughter of the late George Irving Chamberlain and Bessie Louise (Coburn) Chamberlain.
She leaves her son, Roy Sheppard of Malden, Mass.; daughters, Diane Hayes of Mountain View, Calif., and Ruth Louise Rhodes (Skeet) of Putnam; grandsons, Mark Rhodes and John Rhodes; and her great-grandson, Kingston Irving Rhodes.
The Graveside Service will be at 1 p.m. Nov. 9 in Woodlawn Cemetery, 302 Elm St., Everett, Mass. Gilman Funeral Home, 104 Church St. Putnam.
Phyllis Willett,

QUINEBAUG — Phyllis E. Willett, 77, of Quinebaug Road, died Oct. 30, 2011, unexpectedly, at Day Kimball Hospital in Putnam.
She was born Jan. 12, 1934, in Webster, daughter of Frank and Jessie (Hefler) Peterson. She worked as a receptionist and switchboard operator at the former Hale Manufacturing company in Putnam for more than 15 years. She has made her home in Quinebaug for more than 35 years. She enjoyed knitting, and received several first-place ribbons at the Woodstock Fair for her work.
She leaves her daughter: Stacey Hubert of Moosup; a brother: Wallace Peterson of Danielson; a sister: Ann Bayer of N. Grosvenordale; grandchildren Christopher Lajoie, Ashleigh Hubert, Jordan Hubert, Samantha Hubert. She was predeceased by a brother William Peterson and a sister Barbara Hasenberg.

Michael P. Tivnan,

PAXTON, Mass. — Michael P. Tivnan, 58, of Paxton, died Nov. 4, 2011, at the Ichabod Washburn Hospice House in Worcester.
He was born in Worcester, son of Paul X. and Agnes T. (McNamara) Tivnan. He graduated in 1972 from Wachusett Regional High School in Holden.
He was a captain in the correctional officer staff at the Worcester County Sheriff’s Department where he worked for more than 30 years.
He leaves a son, John M. Tivnan (Jennifer) of Woodstock; daughter, Mia Hubacz (Timothy) of Brookfield, Mass.; three granddaughters and a grandson; two brothers, Kevin X. Tivnan (Nancy) of Princeton, Mass., Brian T. Tivnan of Worcester; two sisters, Maureen E. Anderson (John) of Paxton and Paula C. Tivnan of Worcester.
The Funeral Mass was Nov. 8 at St. Columba’s Church, Paxton, with burial in St. John’s Cemetery, Worcester. Athy Memorial Home, Worcester.
Lindsey E. Clavin,
from Pawtucket
PAWTUCKET, R.I. --- Lindsey E. Clavin, 20, of Danielson, formerly of Pawtucket, died unexpectedly on Nov. 3, 2011. Born in Pawtucket, she was the daughter of Ernest R. Parfitt and Patricia A. (Clavin) Correia, both of Pawtucket, and the stepdaughter of Crystal Parfitt and Antonio Correia Sr.
She had lived in Pawtucket before moving to Danielson three years ago.
Besides her parents she leaves her siblings, Benjamin, Angelina and Antonio Correia Jr. and Nikolas and Noah Parfitt; grandparents, Ernest Parfitt Sr. and Cheryl DeLyon, and her partner, Shannon Aucoin. She was the granddaughter of the late Edward and Pauline Clavin.
Visitation will be from 5 to 8 p.m. Nov. 9 at William W. Tripp Funeral Home, 1008 Newport Ave., Pawtucket. A Mass of Christian Burial will be at 10 a.m. Nov. 10 in the Church of St. Leo the Great, 697 Central Ave., Pawtucket. Interment will follow at Notre Dame Cemetery, Pawtucket.
