PUTNAM — Putnam Science Academy men’s basketball head coach Tom Espinosa announced the hiring of Dan Gomes as assistant coach. This will be Gomes’s first coaching experience after a four-year playing career at Putnam High School.
“Dan is a great guy who will bring many things to practice and games,” said Espinosa. “He will be a great asset to our program with our young players.  Responsible, dedicated and hardworking are the first things I think of when people ask me about Dan.”
“I’m really excited to be here and for the opportunity that PSA have provided,” said Gomes. “I’m in the process of getting to know all the student athletes and getting more familiar with the staff here. I think there are some incredible things are coming here to PSA. I’m really looking forward to a great season.”
“Hiring Gomes completes our coaching staff,” said Espinosa. “Josh Scraba, Eric Mauer, Mike Peters and Jimmy Logsdon all return this season.”
The Mustangs open up at 6 p.m. Nov. 28 at Post University.
