DUDLEY --- Nichols College Incoming President Susan West Engelkemeyer presented four alumni awards and inducted five into the Athletic Hall of Fame at the annual Alumni Awards Dinner held recently.
Hertzfeld was honored with an award. Hertzfeld has been a member of the Nichols community since 1979, serving the College in a multitude of ways. Currently, she is the associate vice president for finance and controller, a position that has her responsible for business office functions of student accounts receivable, accounts payable, payroll, cash receipts, general ledger, purchasing, and assisting with budget planning and cash management. Hertzfeld also is the lead point person for the annual independent college financial audit. Outside of the business office, she is advisor to the SGA Investment Club and treasurer of the Faculty Association.
Prior to assuming her role as associate VP, she’s done many things across campus, most notably being an assistant and associate professor, when she taught courses in financial accounting, managerial accounting, taxation, finance, and computer science. Hertzfeld has also served on numerous committees such as Rank and Appointments, Admissions, Academic Policy, and Academic Review. She also chaired the Faculty Senate and Curriculum Committee.
Hertzfeld lives in Putnam. She has a daughter, Mary, and son, Elon, and four grandchildren.
