POMFRET --- The Connecticut Audubon Society at Pomfret Center will open its Holiday Nature Store at the new Lois Orswell Grassland Bird Conservation Center on Day Road. Tax free on opening day. Store runs through Dec. 21. 928-4948.
Pet Help
DAYVILLE --- Pet Pals Northeast, a local animal rescue organization, will be collecting cat and dog food, dry or canned, Purina brands preferred, to help homeless and needy animals in our communities from 10 a.m. to 2 p.m. at Wibberley Tire, junction of routes 12 and 101. Concert

Fund-raiser
POMFRET --- A Quiet Corner fund-raiser for the Access Community Action Agency’s Energy Assistance Fund will be held from 1 to 3 p.m. at Tyrone Farm and includes dessert bar, music and a silent auction.
