Doris L. Kindler,

PUTNAM — Doris L. Kindler, 85, died Nov. 23, 2011, at the Oakwood Nursing Home, Webster.
She was born Jan. 5, 1926, in Willimantic, daughter of the late Lewis Gagnon. She was the wife of the late Waldamar Kindler.
She was a cook for Putnam public schools for 30 years. She enjoyed knitting, sewing, baking and doing crafts.
She leaves her son Alan Kindler of Putnam; four grandchildren, Carmen, Katie, Nicholas, and Alicia Kindler and four great-grandchildren, Alexis, Troy, Cailyn and Dominik. She was predeceased by her husband Waldamar and her son David.
Calling hours will be from 6 to 8 p.m. Dec. 5 at Smith & Walker Funeral Home, 148 Grove St., Putnam.
Sr. Ruth Babineau,

PUTNAM — Sister Ruth Babineau, DHS, 88, a member of the Daughters of the Holy Spirit, died Nov. 26, 2011, at the Holy Spirit Health Care Center where she has been in residence since 1999.
Sister Ruth was born on Dec. 14, 1923, in Palmer, Mass., the daughter of the late Arthur and Alexina (Plouffe) Babineau. She entered religious life in 1940 and made her religious profession on Aug. 20, 1945, at the Holy Spirit Provincial House in Putnam. She was then known as Sr. Jeanne Arthur.
Early in her religious life Sr. Ruth taught in elementary schools in Putnam; Leominster, Mass.; Pittsfield, Mass.; and in Bridgeport. She also served as dietician at Holy Spirit Provincial House in Putnam and at St. Clare Home, Newport, R.I. In 1978, Sr. Ruth served as receptionist at the Provincial House until her retirement in 1982.
She leaves three brothers: Rev. Alexis Babineau, A.A. of Worcester, Raymond Babineau of Belchertown, Mass.; and Joseph Babineau of Boynton Beach, Fla.; one sister, Marguerite Lussier of Charlton, N.Y.; nieces, nephews, grandnieces and grand-nephews.
A Mass of Christian Burial will be at 11 a.m. Nov. 30 at the Provincial House Chapel with burial in St. Mary’s Cemetery, Putnam.

Viola G. Baril,

BROOKLYN — Viola G. Baril, 101, died Nov. 17, 2011, at the Villa Maria Convalescent Home in Plainfield. She was predeceased by her husband of 54 years Adrian Baril, daughter of Ovila and Emma (Halloy) Guertin.
She was born Jan. 19, 1910, in Putnam and attended St. Mary’s School in Putnam. She then worked as a domestic for the Whitin family of Whitinsville, Mass. She spent the rest of her working life in the textile industry at Wauregan Mills as a “Drawing in Hand” and later until her retirement at age 65 for Gant Shirts. She was a member of the Sacred Heart Church in Wauregan and a lifetime member of the Daughters of Isabella.
She leaves a son Richard Baril (Arlene) of Brooklyn; a daughter Kathleen Schimmelpfennig (Joseph), three grandchildren Karen Cresimanno (Mike), Heidi Hare (Jim) and Geoffrey Schimmelpfennig (Liz) and six great grandchildren Zachary, Matthew, Joseph, Carli, Alexa and Adam. She also leaves a special niece, Norma Gileau (Norman) of Griswold. She was predeceased by a sister Ferdinand (Skippy) and a brother Norman E.

Robert Streich Sr.,

PUTNAM — Robert L. Streich Sr., 74, of Thurber Road, died Nov. 18, 2011, in Masonic Care, Wallingford. He was the husband of the late Delphine Alice (Nadeau) Streich. Born in 1937 in Wauregan, he was the son of the late Bernard and Florence (Robidoux) Streich.
He worked as a flea market vendor. He loved the New York Yankees, and going to the casinos.
He leaves his son, Bernard Streich of Homosassa, Fla.; daughter Donna M. Houle of Brooklyn; brother, Arthur Streich of Plainfield, and Port Richie, Fla.; sister, Loraine Dixon of Dayville; 10 grandchildren, and 11 great-grandchildren. He is predeceased by his sons, Robert L. Streich Jr., and Bruce Streich.
The Funeral Mass will be at 1 p.m. Dec. 3 at St. Mary Church of the Visitation, Putnam. Gilman Funeral Home, 104 Church St., Putnam.
Gertrude C. Laprade,

POMFRET CENTER — Gertrude C. Laprade, 90, of Pomfret Center, died Nov. 24, 2011, at Pierce Memorial Nursing Home in Brooklyn.
She was born Sept. 14, 1921, in Danielson, the daughter of the late Arthur and Blanche (Forcier) Laprade. She was a graduate of Killingly High School and George Washington University, for both undergraduate and graduate. She retired from the District of Columbia Government after 34 years and the NY Medical Association in White Plains after an additional six years.
She leaves her sister Doris Laprade of Alexandria, Va.; niece Cherie Squire of Crownsville, Md. and nephew Pierre Smith of Chesapeake Beach, Md and their children.
The Funeral will be at 10:15 a.m. Dec. 1 from the Gagnon and Costello Funeral Home, 33 Reynolds St., Danielson, followed by a Mass of Christian Burial at 11 a.m. in Most Holy Trinity Church, Pomfret, with burial in Holy Cross Cemetery, Danielson. Calling hours are from 9:15 to 10:15 a.m. at the funeral home.
Pearl A. Kulzyck,

POMFRET CENTER — Pearl (Robillard) Kulzyck, 54, of Freedley Road, died Nov. 23, 2011, in UMass Medical Center in Worcester, after a brief illness.
Born in 1957 in Worcester, she was the daughter of the late Albert and Josephine (Distefano) Robillard.
Pearl was employed by Crabtree & Evelyn in Woodstock for 24 years where she was known as a dedicated and valued employee. She was also a hard-working woman in her personal life who enjoyed gardening with her son Stephen. Her interests included her family, taking care of her dogs, live music and having an occasional cold Coors Light.
She leaves her children, Stephen and Angie Kulzyck, both of Pomfret. She was the sister of Mary DeLuca (Edward) of N. Grosvenordale, Albert Robillard (Sue) of Dudley, Christine Gould (George) of Putnam, Robin Brassard (Paul) of N. Grosvenordale, Joy Daigle of Webster and Josephine Fontaine (Bruce) of Putnam.

Irene Ryan,

MIDDLETOWN — Irene (LaFlamme) Ryan, 88, died Nov. 22, 2011, after a short illness. She was the wife of the late Anthony Ryan.
Born in 1923 in Putnam, she was the daughter of the late Joseph and Aldea (Vaillant) LaFlamme.
She was a loving lady with a kind heart and a contagious sense of humor.
She leaves her sons, James M. Ryan of Wethersfield, and Michael J. Ryan of Des Plaines, Ill.; sister, Rhea LaChance of Dayville; five grandchildren. In addition to her husband, Irene was predeceased by her son, Donald R. Ryan, sister, Angie Nelson, brothers Roland LaFlamme, and Lee LaFlamme; and her granddaughter Courtney E. Ryan.
The Mass of Christian Burial was Nov. 28 in the Most Holy Trinity Church, Pomfret, with burial in St. Mary Cemetery, Putnam. Merrie L. Caron,

DAYVILLE – Merrie L. Caron, 81, of Dayville died Nov. 24, 2011.
She was born Feb. 16, 1930, in Quincy, Mass., daughter of the late Raymond F. and Cora (Cronin) Vinal. She was the wife of Leo Caron who died in 2009.
She worked for 17 years at the former Idle Wild Farms. She was a member of the Ladies Auxiliary of the Williamsville Fire Department in Rogers. Merrie also took great pride in her love for country music and her talent for singing.
She leaves three sons, Timothy Perras of Dayville, William Perras of Rogers, Kerry Baker of E. Killingly; stepson Ricky Caron of Putnam; stepdaughter Brenda Beauregard of Florida; grandchildren, great-grandchildren, great-great-grandchildren. She was predeceased by her brother Raymond Vinal, sister Nancy Harwood and her daughter Kathleen Medbury and infant son Robert Baker.
A Graveside Service will be held at 11 a.m. Dec. 2 in Westfield Cemetery, Danielson. Tillinghast Funeral Home, Danielson.
James Allen
Seace Jr.
DAYVILLE— James Allen Seace Jr., 68, of Dayville, died Nov. 20, 2011, at home. He was the husband of Martha Louise (Bellville) Seace. They were married Sept. 28, 1963.
Mr. Seace was born May 23, 1943, in Hanover, N.H., son of the late James Allen and Alice May (Chandler) Seace. He worked in construction for many years and later worked at Foxwoods Casino in the environmental services department.
Besides his wife Martha he leaves his children, James A. Seace III, Ray T. Seace (Nancy), Louise A. Seace, Scott E. Seace (Cynthia), all of Dayville; sister, Virginia LeClaire of New Hampshire; eight grandchildren, and four great grandchildren. Burial was private. Tillinghast Funeral Home, Danielson.
Phyllis A. Telesha,

POMFRET CENTER — Phyllis Anne (Cobb) Telesha, 81 of Seely Brown Village, died Nov. 25, 2011, in Day Kimball Hospital. She was the wife of the late Daniel P. Telesha.
Born in 1930 New Rochelle, N.Y., she was the daughter of the late Harold W. and Kathleen (Créane) Cobb.
Mrs. Telesha was a 1948 graduate of the Academy of Our Lady of Mercy Lauralton Hall; she attended the college of New Rochelle and graduated from the American Institute of Banking. She went on to a successful career in banking working for several savings banks rising to assistant vice president. She was a member of the Association of Savings Bank Women. In 1981, she received the President’s Award for City Savings Bank. She served as president of Seely-Brown Village Residence Association and volunteered at the Day Kimball Hospital Gift Shop.
She was the mother of Danette L. Busby, Michael C. Telesha, Dreux A. Telesha and Tara Marie Telesha; mother-in -law to Edward F. Busby; grandmother of seven grandchildren and seven great grandchildren.
There is a Mass of Christian Burial at 1 p.m. Dec. 1 in the Most Holy Trinity Church, Pomfret. A Memorial Mass will be celebrated at 11:30 a.m. Dec. 2 in St Agnes Church, 400 Merwin Ave, Milford. Burial is private in St. Mary Cemetery, Milford.

Marion Bouley
WEST VIRGINIA — Marion Adeline (Mingo) Bouley, 79, died Nov. 19, 2011, in West Virginia.
She was a former resident of Putnam.
Marion was born in Brooklyn and was the daughter of the late Salvatore and Hannah (Lawson) Mingo.
She was predeceased by her husband Maurice Bouley and her son Donald Gorman. She leaves her children William Gorman (Christine), Shirley Egan, Diane Schneider (Richard), and Joseph Gorman; grandchildren, Dawn, William Jr., Ashely, Matthew, Emily, and Bradley; great-grandchildren Joey, David, and Braiden.
Graveside services will be at 1 p.m. Dec. 2 in St. Joseph Cemetery, N. Grosvenordale.
