Josephine Lamoureux,

PUTNAM — Josephine M. Lamoureux, 93, of Liberty Highway, died Nov. 29, 2011, at Day Kimball Hospital. Wife of the late Hector Lamoureux; they were married June 24, 1939 in Putnam. He died March 13, 1990.
She was born April 18, 1918, in Manville, R.I., daughter of the late Ferdinand and Mary (Pierz) Godek.
Josephine attended the former Smith Street School.
She worked for Powdrell & Alexander, Belding and Acme. She enjoyed feeding birds, traveling, crafts, sewing and knitting.
She  was proud of the house she had built with her husband and over the years made it a loving home.
She leaves her daughter Joan Taylor of Palm Coast, Fla.; grandchildren Daniel Gardner, Celeste Lussier (Daniel), Dale Gardner (Susan), Celina Burnett and Kathleen Taylor Powers; great-grandchildren Matthew, Jocelyn, Victoria, Erica, Craig, Katherine, Zachary, Daniel, Joshua and Brian, great-great-grandchildren Abigail, Wyatt, Madison, Wesley and Audrey; a brother, Walter; a sister, Veronica. she was predeceased by siblings Florence, Elizabeth, Helen, Victoria and Francis.
A Mass of Christian Burial was Dec. 1, in St Mary Church of the Visitation, with burial in St Mary Cemetery.

John Carter
Whitney (Alvord)
PLAINFIELD — John Carter Whitney, (John Alvord), 43, died Dec. 1, 2011, at home. 
Born in 1967 in Worcester, he was the son of Samuel Alvord of Putnam, and Jeanne (Labossiere) Robidas of Plainfield.
Mr. Whitney graduated from Marianapolis Preparatory School in 1985 and Albertus Magnus College in 1989.
  He worked as a publisher relations manager for the LPC Group in Milford. 
Those closest to John will fondly remember him for his humor, his love of travel, and his adoration of his nephew and niece. 
He graciously volunteered for Hospice of Northeast CT.
In addition to his parents, he leaves his sister, Colleen (Alvord) Godino (Michael) of Storrs; his nephew, Michael Bertrand, niece, Morgan Krajniak; maternal grandmother, Jeannette Labossiere of Canterbury; aunt, Carol Labossiere of Canterbury; three half-brothers, two half-sisters, three step brothers and one step sister.
Visitation is from 9:30 to 10:30 a.m. Dec. 8 in Gilman Funeral Home, 104 Church St., Putnam. 
A Funeral Service will begin at 10:30 and burial follows in St. Mary’s Cemetery.

Daniel J. Roberts
PUTNAM — Daniel J. Roberts, 34, of Grove Street died Nov.  29, 2011 at UMass Medical Center in Worcester.
He was born Aug. 6, 1977, in Putnam,  son of Cynthia A. Roberts of Dayville and the late George H. Roberts Jr.
He worked in construction for several years.
Besides his mother he leaves his son Gavin R. Roberts of Putnam; brothers, Matthew J. Roberts (Jessica) of Enfield and Gregory J. Roberts of Danielson; aunts, uncles and cousins.
A Memorial Mass of Christian Burial will be at 10 a.m. Dec. 7 at St. James Church, Danielson, with burial in St. Joseph Cemetery, Dayville.

Frank E. Socha,
WWII vet
DUDLEY — Frank E. Socha, 93, of Dudley, died Nov. 28, 2011, in UMass/Memorial Healthcare, Worcester, after being stricken ill.
He was born and raised in Webster, a son of Louis and Helen (Kuzawa) Socha. He moved to Dudley in 1954.
He was an Army veteran of World War II, serving as a corporal in Normandy, France, the Rhineland and Central Europe.
Mr. Socha was a heat treater at Wyman Gordon Company in Grafton for 10 years and then at Norton Company, now Saint Gobain, in Worcester for 15 years. He retired in 1982.
He was a member of St. Andrew Bobola Church.
He leaves his wife of 69 years, Anita R. (Allard) Socha; a daughter, Candace G. Kuper (Jason) of Eastford; a sister, Esther Twardzik of Dudley; nephews and nieces.
He was preceded in death by two brothers and a sister.
The Funeral was Dec. 1 in Sitkowski & Malboeuf Funeral Home, Webster, with burial in St. Joseph Garden of Peace, Webster, with military honors.
