Janice M. MacLellan,

WOODSTOCK — Janice M. MacLellan, 72, of Woodstock, died Dec. 16, 2011, at Day Kimball Hospital in Putnam.
She was born Aug. 16, 1939, in Putnam, daughter of the late Jerome C. and May R. (Law) Tourtellotte. Janice worked as a caregiver at the Mansfield Training School for several years. She also worked at the Dempsey Center in Putnam and later at the Putnam Group Home. She graduated from Oxford High School and spent her youth in Oxford, and had made her home in Pomfret for several years. In 1994 she moved to Woodstock. Janice had a great interest in genealogy, an avid reader, enjoyed crossword puzzles, whale watching on Cape Cod, and cruises to the Caribbean. She was known to many by her great sense of humor and her great independence.
She leaves her children Nils J. Jacobson (wife Sharon Blanchette) of Windsor, Tambree L. Randall (Craig) of Harvard, Mass.; their father Robert Jacobson; three sisters, Ruth Kneier of Putnam, Karen Dimock of Woodstock; Lynne Foote of Woodstock; grandchildren, Hilary, Benton, Spencer, Rachel, Ethan, Victoria.

Jay D. Campbell,

WOODSTOCK — Jay D. Campbell, 51, of Woodstock, died Dec. 12, 2011, at home. He was born June  29, 1960, in Dover, N.H., son of Robert E. Campbell of Avon, and the late Adelle B. (Cutler) Campbell.
Jay was a truck driver for over 30 years and an owner operator of JayBird Transportation in Woodstock for the last nine years.  He had made his home in Woodstock for 27 years, and his youth in Farmington.
He was a NASCAR fan and enjoyed riding his Harley. Jay was best known for his “one-liners” and was always generous with his resources.
He leaves, in addition to his father, his three children, Tracey Campbell of Chaplin, Kenneth Campbell of Woodstock, James Campbell of Woodstock; their mother Sharon Campbell of Woodstock; two grandchildren Shane and Jacob; two sisters, Barbara Bradley of Southington, Anne Harmon of Avon; two brothers Craig Campbell of Burlington, Paul Campbell of New Britain.

Roger Cote Sr.,

DAYVILLE — Roger F. Cote Sr., of Primrose Crossing, died Dec. 9, 2011, at home. He was born June 16, 1947, in Providence, son of the late Frederick LeBlanc and Palma Cote.  Roger has made his home in the area since 1976, moving from Coventry, R.I.
He was employed for 20 years at Acme Cotton as a maintenance mechanic. He also worked for many years as a carpenter. His last employment was working at Danny’s Auction in Foster, R.I.
He served in the U.S. Army. Roger was an active member of the Tri-State Cruisers, involved with the Windham County 4-H and a past member of the Highland Grange.
He leaves his son Roger F. Cote Jr., of Taconic; his former wife Lorraine Cote of Dayville.

Geradl Gibeault,

BROOKLYN — Gerald L. Gibeault, 91, of Brooklyn, died Dec. 17, 2011. He was the husband of Aline (Perreault) Gibeault. They were married July 4, 1947, at Our Lady of LaSalette Church in Brooklyn. She died June 2, 2009.
He was born Nov. 22, 1920, in Wauregan, son of the late Louis and Alma (Jette) Gibeault. He attended Goodyear School and Killingly High School. He worked at the family grocery store Louis Gibeault Grocery in Goodyear. He entered the U.S. Army and served with the U.S. Army Air Corp in WWII. After his honorable discharge he returned to the family business until he went to work for the Killingly Board of Education as a custodian.
Gerald became head custodian for the Killingly Central School and was also a school bus driver. He and his wife enjoyed traveling, especially trips to Idaho. He was communicant of St. James Church.  He enjoyed spending time in his wood shop, making things for his children and grandchildren. He and his wife enjoyed watching their grandchildren at their sporting events and were very proud of their athletic accomplishments, and that all of their grandchildren attended college.
He leaves his children: Gerald G. Gibeault (Gloria) of Idaho Falls, Idaho, Roland E. Gibeault (Carmen) of Brooklyn, David R. Gibeault (Susan) of Brooklyn, Jeanne Marie Lenz (Don) of Ashton, Idaho, Leeanne G. Gibeault of Brooklyn, Peggy R. Traub (Dan) of Kent;  17 grandchildren, six great grandchildren. He was predeceased by his brother Roland and his sister Jeanne.
Calling hours are from 9 to 10:30 a.m. Dec. 22 at  Gagnon and Costello Funeral Home, 33 Reynolds St, Danielson, followed by a Mass of Christian Burial at 11 at St. James Church, Danielson, with military honors. Phyllis Rogers,

PUTNAM — Phyllis Rogers, 78, of Hawkins Road, died Dec. 16, 2011 at the Matulaitis Nursing Home. She was the wife of William B. Rogers;, they were married July 31, 1954. He died Dec. 29, 2009.
Born Aug. 13, 1933, in Putnam, she was the daughter of the late Gerald and Alida (Jette) Labossiere. She was a graduate of the PCA and St. Francis Nursing School.  She was a Registered Nurse, working at Matulaitis Nursing Home in Putnam for over 25 years, and following her retirement, she volunteered at Matulaitis.
 Phyllis was a lifelong resident of Putnam, an active member of the Putnam community for several years, a communicant of St. Mary Church of the Visitation and a former CYO teacher.  Phyllis was a literacy volunteer, a member of the Putnam Library Board and the Aspinock Historical Society.  Phyllis and her husband Bill wintered in Florida for several years after retirement. She had a great passion for her life’s work as an RN at Matulaitis, her utmost concerns were for her patients health and well-being.
She leaves two sons: William Rogers III of Ellington, John Rogers (Susan) of Putnam;  two daughters: Kathleen Royce (Brian) of Newington; Maureen Dexter (Mark) of Ellington; grandchildren: William, Crystal, Desirae, Ramon, Alexis, Emily, Patrick, Madison, Marek, great grandchildren: William and Adonis; a brother Gerard Labossiere of Tacoma, Wash.; sister Claire Main of Putnam.

Francis C. Tinker,

PUTNAM — Francis C. Tinker, 78, of Putnam died Dec. 9, 2011, at Day Kimball Hospital. He was born July 20, 1933, in Stafford Springs, son of the late Carlton and Elsie (Scranton) Tinker.
Francis was a veteran of the Vietnam war, serving in the U.S. Army. He was a member of Masonic Lodge #46 in Putnam for over 50 years and was an auxiliary State Trooper with Troop D in Danielson for 30 years. He was a member of the United Church of Christ in Union. Francis enjoyed woodworking, fishing and was an avid Red Sox fan. 
He leaves his ex-wife and best friend Claire Tinker; two daughters, Beth Habercoss (Robert) of Sterling and Cathy Gluck of Moosup; a son Scott Tinker of Moosup; sister Betty Vilandre of Union; brother Robert Tinker of Sturbridge; six grandchildren, two great-grandchildren. He was predeceased by a sister Ella Lataille.

Marie Elliott
PUTNAM — Marie Shirley Elliott, 72, of Putnam, died Dec. 13, 2011, at home.
She was born Nov. 7, 1939, in Willimantic, the daughter of George and Marie (Morin) Elliott.
Marie retired in 2001 after 24 years of employment at Kaman Aerospace in Moosup. She enjoyed golf and bowling.
She leaves three sisters, Janet Matassa of Putnam, Evelyn Menzone (Joseph) of Dudley, and Edith Baronousky of Putnam; brother, Robert Elliott (Nancy) of Willimantic; nieces, nephews and her longtime friend Carol Montpelier of Putnam. She was predeceased by two brothers and two sisters, Carl and Raymond Elliott Doris Elliott and Ruth E. Roy.

D.W. Manuilow Sr.,

DANIELSON – Dennis Wayne Manuilow Sr., 62, of Danielson died Dec. 14, 2011, at Day Kimball Hospital in Putnam.
He was born Jan. 8, 1949, in Putnam, son of John Manuilow of Brooklyn and the late Ida Margaret (Williams) Manuilow.
Mr. Manuilow was a Vietnam veteran who served in the U.S. Navy. He was first employed at the former Anchor Glass in Dayville and later for the State of CT  Department of Corrections as a corrections substance abuse counselor. He was an avid bowler and pool player and was a member of the American Legion Post #21 in Danielson.
He leaves his son Dennis W. Manuilow Jr. of Woodstock; grandson Collin Manuilow; father John Manuilow of Brooklyn; two sisters, Karen Brendlinger (Raymond) of Danielson, Joanne Lantry (Timothy) of Brooklyn; brother John Manuilow (Christine) of Brooklyn; his former wife Ruth Trahan and his dogs, Sydney and Preston.
The Funeral was Dec. 19 with burial in High Street Center, Dayville. Tillinghast Funeral Home, Danielson.

Alba Tremaglio,

MIDDLEBURY — Mrs. Alba (Togni) Tremaglio, 85, of Woodstock, formerly of Middlebury, died Dec. 12, 2011, at the home of her daughter after a lengthy illness. She was the widow of Neil Tremaglio Sr., her husband of 52 years.
Mrs. Tremaglio was born Jan. 11, 1926, in Avon, daughter of the late Andrea and Margherita (Simonelli) Togni. She was a graduate of Canton High School and St. Mary’s Hospital School of Nursing, Class of 1948. She was a registered nurse at St. Mary’s Hospital. In the past two years she dealt with the debilitating effects of a stroke with a smile, a song, a warm touch and a daily I love you.
She leaves a son, Neil Tremaglio Jr. (Marita) of Middlebury; two daughters, Angela Tunstall (George) of Watertown, Andrea Coyle (Michael) of Woodstock, with whom she lived; a sister, Ada Groppo of Simsbury; six grandchildren and two great-grandchildren. She was predeceased by her two sisters, Ercolina Maule and Irma Tonon.
