PUTNAM — The new Regional Community Family YMCA has received a $10,000 gift from Woodstock-based CME Associates, Inc. for the construction of its new facility in Putnam. CME is an architectural/engineering firm based in Connecticut with three offices in eastern Connecticut providing professional design and consulting services that balance the natural and built environment.
“I am pleased, on behalf of the 45 men and women who make up CME and choose to live and raise their families here in eastern Connecticut, to express our support for this great project and what it brings to our community,” said Brad Cheney, president and CEO of CME Associates, Inc.
ames Morton, president and CEO of the YMCA of Greater Hartford, said, “We are grateful to CME Associates, Inc. for its support of the new Y. They know that when a community has access to programs and services that build strong, healthy families, the businesses in that community prosper.”
Included in the construction plans for the facility is a swimming pool, plus a health and wellness center, gymnasium, group exercise studio/multi purpose room, and cycling studio and child care.
The facility will serve residents from the towns of Putnam, Killingly, Eastford, Thompson, Brooklyn, Pomfret, Woodstock and Plainfield.
