PUTNAM — Known for being caring, humble, respectful and kind in his role as chaplain, Reverend Jonathan Scott was named Day Kimball Healthcare’s 2011 Employee of the Year.
The announcement was made by Robert E. Smanik, president and CEO, and John P. Miller, then chairman of the board.
“I am flabbergasted,” said Scott as he accepted the award at the meeting. “It is a great privilege to work as chaplain at Day Kimball because I get to meet so many wonderful people every day. I will continue to enjoy the calling that I have and to serve in this way.”
Scott was one of 12 Day Kimball ‘Employees of the Month’ in 2011 as the December designee.
Scott has been employed by Day Kimball’s Pastoral Care department for more than 11 years where he provides spiritual support for patients and their families, as well as the hospital and hospice staff that work with them. He lives in Pomfret with his wife Sally and their children Michael, Karen and David.
