PUTNAM --- The town's Building Office recently approved the building permit for the expansion of the Walmart on Rt. 44.
According to the building permit application, Walmart officials expect the expansion of the front of the building and reworking of the parking lots and entry road to cost more than $10.7 million. The permit fee paid to the town is more than $121,000.
Currently the new entry road, directly across from southbound exit ramp #97, is being constructed under the Inland Wetland permits the company has.
The estimated time for construction is more than 500 days.
