fund-raiser
POMFRET — The annual Pomfret Town Wide Tag Sale netted a $1,000 donation to the town’s 300th Anniversary Celebration.
The sixth annual town-wide tag sale, held May 5, is sponsored by the Pomfret Proprietors.
A number of local organizations were fund-raising during the sale, including the Friends of Pomfret Public Library.
“I wanted to let you all know that we had another successful book and yard sale on May 5, adding over $1,200 to our checkbook."
"A big thank you goes out to all who helped to move books, sort books, sell books, buy books, or who donated books and tag sale items and then helped pack up the leftovers."
"Once again the Pomfret School’s service club students were invaluable in getting books down to PCS from the library attic, a feat only for younger feet than mine!” said President Elaine Nelson.
The Pomfret Horse & Trail Association also had a successful day, raising over $900.
Lisette Rimer of the PHTA was pleased to share that “the money [we raised] goes for a 10-year old Pomfret girl to attend the 4H Horse Camp in Abington, and we also donate to the Wyndham Land Trust for their open space acquisitions.”
The Pomfret Proprietors thanked Barry Jessurun and Nora Robbins for volunteering to create the Town Wide Tag Sale Map and the Town of Pomfret and Bonnie Ryan for printing the map.
