Putnam Middle School played Lisbon Central School on Thursday, May 24 in Putnam and won by a score of 16-1 in 6 innings, completing their regular season undefeated with a record of 8-0. Putnam also played Canterbury on Monday, May 21 and won that game by a score of 11-2.
The winning pitcher in the Lisbon game was Rylee Hehir striking out 14 and giving up 1 walk. Hitters for Putnam were Morgan Foucault and Savannah Nichols with 2 hits each; and Alyssa Peterson, Rylee Hehir and Ashley Burke each with one hit.
In the Canterbury game, the winning pitcher was Mackenzie Livingston striking out 11 and allowing only 1 walk. Four batters had 2 hits each including Morgan Foucault, Rylee Hehir, Mackenzie Livingston and Lindsay Roberts. There were many great defensive plays as well in the game including a game-ending fly ball to Calli Tessier in right field.
Putnam goes on to playoffs which start this week at Putnam Middle School.
